Like a marathon

Cooking an entire cookbook is like a marathon, it gets harder towards the end. I only have a few more recipes to do to finish, and I am both impatient and sad. INevertheless, since I have made notes along the way, I know which mocktails to re-do, or at least which are my favorites. I know this book well!

So we tasted a few new creations:

Strawberry tomato - very nice strawberry candy flavor, nothing crazy, very subtle. The tomato comes through also, but only if you are told it is in there. It is clarified using the curdled milk method, which works so well and is all natural.

Peach shrub - has an acidic bite which is to be expected. The peach flavor was very light, but I did not have peach tea, so I just used rooibos. A lot of the teas in the book come from a small supplier in Chicago, and can not be found elsewhere. But for this drink, the peach tea was missing.

Blueberry pancake - which I will not make again. It has browned butter which floats to the top. The blueberry juice made with the juicer is very thick and does not blend well. I did not look for blueberry juice online but you can, that would be a better choice.
